Dear Ostad Jalilzadeh I have a question about Suto.
We make Duma defence to the right side and the left hand goes to the chest as a reaction arm, back of the hand up. Then we turn it 180 degree making a right Oranto, and the left hand turns, and the back of the hand is down. There is also a slight movement of the shoulder.
.....what am I doing?

I tried to think and to image. I thought that in Anattawa we try to keep the opponent far away, in atado the distance seems shorter and in suto it seems very short, and it makes sense too, because you explained us that in classic fighting atado goes with suto.
Maybe first I am defending with Duma, and then I am making a leverage? I mean that maybe with this turn, I am taking my arm under the arm of the opponent and pushing him back? Or maybe it is simply a sequence? making a first defence followed by a second one if the first went wrong?

About the left hand, is it turning to make the reaction, or is there something more?

Dear Patrizia after Duma defense with the left hand on the chest as a reaction on Suto, because we have limited space and movement for arms, by moving the upper body back and forth we create power for next technique.

Dear Ostad Jalilzadeh, excuse me I have a doubt!!

In classic techniques, when you hit Horeima Keyeto right, I see that you take the right hand fisted under the right leg, you don't stop to the side, you are going under the leg! I thought the reason was to have room enough to move the leg and kick, and for balance too. In Sima keyeto of course if I don't take the arm lower I would get the movement smaller. But my doubt is that maybe it is also a protection for the lower part od the body!!

So: are you really taking the hand under the leg or it is an "optical effect"?And if you really take it there, is it for a reason of space or protection?

Thank you!

You are right on Sima Keyeto, you have to bring the arms down to make power and reaction for it.
It is the same reason for me on Horeima Keyeto. You know, we need to push the heel forward to make it more effective. When I make a fist right beside and under of the leg, I can push the heel more.
If you able to turn and push the heel forward without using the arm, it would not be a problem. It is up to individual
